Kamilah Simba-Torres graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Music from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific. She is a certified teacher in the Suzuki Method and has taught privately for over 25 years. She also taught for ten years in the public school systems including Stockton, Golden Plains and Sanger Unified. Teaching assignments included orchestra, band, choir, general music, guitar, and piano to grade levels K-12. Many of her performing groups traveled as far as New York City and went to competitions where they received top ratings.

In addition to teaching in the public schools, K.C. Simba- Torres was a counselor and instructor for 24 years at summer music camps such as Camp Burton and Pacific Music Camp. Currently, she directs the string and full orchestra groups at Lake Sequoia Music Camp YMCA.  She often is a clinician and adjudicator for various Valley schools and music festivals.

She currently is the owner and director of Simba School of Music L.L.C. which has approximately 95 students. She teaches a wide range of instruments including all string instruments, piano, woodwinds and brass.

Mrs. Simba-Torres plays professionally with numerous groups including  Arpeggio Strings, Flamenco Jucal, Fresno City College Orchestra and the Reedley College Zech Orchestra and Band. She has played for the Tulare County Symphony for 25 years, the last 17 as Principal Second violin. Simba-Torres performs as a freelance musician for various churches and light opera organizations throughout the San Joaquin Valley. She has also played for the Kings County, Bakersfield, Stockton, Merced, and Fresno Philharmonic Orchestras.

K.C. met her husband in their high school band class and they have two children. Hasina (13) plays the cello and piano while her brother Xavion (9) just started the violin. They reside in Fresno.


Erin Adams has performed as a violinist throughout California with many groups including the Stockton Symphony, Pro Arte Symphony Orchestra, Fresno Grand Opera, St. John’s Chamber Orchestra, and Townsend Opera Players. She currently performs with the Fresno Philharmonic, Tulare County Symphony, and is a founding member of Arpeggio Strings. She has played on the illustrious stages of Carnegie Hall, the Palace of Fine Arts,  and the Sydney Opera House where she led as concertmaster.
Mrs. Adams graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fresno State University, studying violin performance under Dr. Limor Toren-Immerman. She has performed and observed master classes with some of the music worlds’ preeminent performers and pedagogues, including Paul Kantor (Juilliard, Rice), Rachel Barton-Pine ( concert soloist), Guillaume Sutré (UCLA), Grigory Kalinovsky (Indiana), and Leor Maltinski (San Francisco Symphony).
Mrs. Adams maintains a studio of 30 violin and viola students at the Simba School of Music. Many of her students hold principal chairs in their school orchestras as well as in the Youth Orchestras of Fresno and FOOSA, and have had the opportunity to perform in recitals and master classes throughout the Central Valley.


Simba Music School Fresno Corey

Corey Dobbins has an AA degree from Reedley College with an emphasis in music. Though Dobbins can play many instruments, he has focused on Guitar and Drumset. Some of Dobbins private instructors include: Burl Walter Jr., Dr. Colleen Snyder, Juan Serrano, Corey Whitehead, Manolo Sanlucar, and Ruben Delgado.

Dobbins is currently performing Guitar with Flamenco Jucal and drumset with local rock group Sawtooth.  He is currently teaching guitar, piano, and percussion at the Simba School of Music L.L.C..

In his spare time, Corey enjoys many hobbies including: martial arts, poetry, hiking, fishing. He has a wonderful son and loves spending time with family.
